True education is a continuous process of character building. APS Dhaula Kuan strives to develop intensive critical and analytical thinking in students. School focuses on developing effective communication skills amongst our students. Pedagogical practices and methadologies followed at aps dk make learning fun and provide learners with experiences that promote lifelong learning. We at Aps dhaula kuan focus on holistic experiential learning. Our students come from different ethnic, cultural and economic backgrounds. Our teachers weave the entire curricular activities to promote intercultural learning and foster understanding and accepting each other’s differences and deficiencies. We at secondary level strictly follow CBSE curriculum with an aim to achieve necessary cognitive psychomotor excellence, allow our students to explore their inner potential so that they are able to select appropriate scheme of studies at senior secondary level that will allow them to later choose the carriers best suited to their potential. While emphasizing on academic excellence we at APS also focus on imparting life skills and goal setting. Academic programs are designed in such a manner that they inculcate right values and attitudes in children. Teachers facilitate that students develop healthy habits and physical fitness. They are also motivated to learn one or more visual and performing art forms and showcase their talent. Teachers lay great emphasis to generate environmental consciousness and gender sensitivity in students.
State of art labs, well equipped library, lush green sports fields, enthusiastic learners, highly motivated experienced staff make the learning fun.
Two levels of examination are being held in the subject of Mathematics in the board examination from 2020 onwards.
This year onwards we are introducing information technology as compulsory skill subjects in class 9 if a student fails in any one of three compulsory subjects that is Math’s , science and social science and passes in the skill subject then that subject will be replaced by skill subject and the result of class 10 board examination be computed accordingly.
It is expected in class 9 that a student should have studied and passed three languages in class 8 but if the student has been promoted without clearing third language he/she has to pass in the same in class 9 but the syllabus of class 8 will be asked.

STRUCTURE OF ASSESSMENT SCHEME
A. For Class IX:
1. Annual Examination (class IX) for 80 marks (20 MidTerm + 60 Annual Exam)
2. Internal Assessment (20 Marks) . It has 4 components :
- Periodic Assessment – 5 Marks
Periodic Tests (05 marks): 3 in each subject in anacademic year and the average of best 2 would to be taken for final submission of marks.
Multiple Assessment (05 marks):Flexibility to use multiple and diverse techniques to assess learners viz. observation, oral tests, individual or group work, class discussion, field-work, concept maps, graphic organizers, visual representation etc.
- Portfolio – 5 Marks A portfolio is a purposeful collection of student’s work. This portfolio can be seen both as a process and as a product.
- Subject Enrichment Activities – 5 Marks
Languages provide ample space and the autonomy to subject teachers to develop relevant listeningand speaking skills. The specified activities in practical work in Science and Mathematics.
Social Science- relevant projects & Map Works.
